Bring the Store to your Door!
We offer local deliveries for retailers in communities across South Africa.
Each store listed on XGROCER manages their own choice of inventory and sets the price estimates to ensure that XGROCER customers pay in-store prices.

This allows us to offer an IN-STORE PRICE guarantee for all listed stores on XGROCER.

In certain areas, we offer our own Shop & Drop online store where we use a selection of retailers to look after an area.

Where do we deliver?
We are constantly expanding our delivery areas as we bring new stores onto the platform. The best way to see if we deliver to your area is to return to the GET STARTED page and enter the desired delivery address. If we currently do not offer delivery in your area please check back again soon!

Volunteers
Our XGrocer staff have all volunteered to work and are trying their very best to help our customers and communities. Please be kind!
 

Operating Hours
XGrocer operates from 10 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week.
Orders are open between 10 am and 6 pm and the last delivery is at 7 pm.


Preorders
Outside of operating hours, you are able to place preorders for delivery on a future date.
Whilst we are able to guarantee delivery on the date you choose we can, unfortunately, not guarantee any time specifics.

If you do fall into our delivery zone you will see the XGrocer store. Click to enter and you will be able to choose from our list of groceries and hygiene products to add to your cart.

Please take note that:

  • Prices are estimations only, based on average prices.
  • YOU WILL ONLY PAY THE ACTUAL AMOUNT ON THE SHOP RECEIPT WITH NO MARKUP ADDED
  • If you cannot find an item on our list then you can add a CUSTOM ITEM and give us a description of what you are looking for.
  • You can add as many custom items as you need to.

 

Special Item

Can't find what you are looking for?
You can add special items to your order on checkout. List whatever you could not find on XGrocer and, if available, we will get it for you.

 

Checkout
On Checkout we will ask for:

  • Contact and address details
  • Preferred delivery date - we cannot commit to times but guarantee same-day delivery if requested
  • Confirmation of willingness to prepay by Card or EFT once the shopping has been completed and we have a final supermarket receipt to send

     Staff Benevolent Fund donation (optional): 
    Our team is working at great risk and extra expense during this challenging time for our nation. In order to assist them with critical costs incurred for work, such as transport, masks & sanitizer, we have created a Benevolent fund on their behalf. 100% These funds are used to cover essential costs and thereafter divided up amongst the staff as a bonus for volunteering to work at this time. XGrocer does not participate nor do we take any administration or management fee on donations. Thank you for your support!


Your basket will indicate:

  • An estimate for your grocery total
  • The shopping & delivery fee
  • A 3% processing fee 

 

Charge Breakdown
Each XGROCER order is limited in load size and subject to the following charges

  • Delivery Charge:  starting at R40 and increasing based on the mileage from the merchant to the customer. 
  • Processing Charge: based on costs to third-party service providers.
  • Service Charge: applicable to only certain categories, a service charge may be added to an order.

Charges and the in-store amount are payable in full before any orders can be dispatched.

The load size is determined by the capacity of the drivers storage container, which, in turn, is dependent on the number and size of the products ordered.
On average we can fit approximately 30 normal size items into a load.

We reserve the right to charge a surcharge on larger loads.
 

Confirmation Process
On receipt of your order, an XGrocer Agent will contact you on the phone number provided. The agent will confirm your details and your order details.

 

Shopping

Your shopper will try their utmost to find the products you have requested.
We cannot guarantee we will find everything on your list, especially with low stock levels currently at the supermarkets but we will do our best. 
Please understand that all your items might not be available.

The cost of shopping bags is not estimated in your order but will be added to your final amount as per the supermarket bill.

On completion of the shopping, a photograph will be sent to you of the final receipt along with a proforma bill for payment comprising the actual grocery cost and the fees itemized above.

 

Payment
Prepayment is required in order to offer contactless delivery for the protection of you and our drivers. On the transmission of your proforma bill, you will receive an SMS with a link for online credit card payments or you can pay the amount by EFT and send the proof to orders@xgrocer.co.za

The driver will not be dispatched until proof of payment has been received by us. 

 

Receiving Deliveries
Once the driver has received your order they will NOT be allowed to return any products, therefore by using our service, you agree as follows: 

  • To be responsible for the full payment of the grocery invoice
  • That no amount will be deducted from your bill for an incorrect item
  • You further indemnify XGrocer and our employees from any liability in this regard
  • Whilst some stores may be willing to accept returns, XGrocer is not able to provide this service on your behalf. If you wish to return items you will need to do so on your own accord

Our drivers follow a strict COVID-19 Hygiene Protocol and we suggest that you follow the recommended guidelines available online.

Re-Ordering
Visit Orders from the profile menu of the site or app to see your order history and to place a one-touch re-order.

 

General
XGrocer reserves all of its rights in regard to this service and the customer indemnifies XGrocer, its staff and suppliers from any loss or damage that may be suffered as a result of this service.

XGrocer also reserves the right to refuse service to any customer, for any reason, without notice or justification.
